About the Organizer
I. As a higher education institution specializing in the international promotion of Chinese language and culture, our college has rich experience in foreign affairs.
BICC not only is a AAAAA social organization, but also now a member of the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching, Chinese Language International Promotion Center for the Belt and Road Countries, Chinese Educational Base in Beijing, as well as of Beijing NGO Association for International Exchanges and a member of China Public Diplomacy Association. The school is well qualified to receive overseas students, hire foreign experts and is capable of organizing domestic training programs for Chinese language teachers from abroad, of conducting human resources training program for national foreign aid projects and of undertaking the responsibility of HSK exams. We’ve now established Confucius Classrooms in Nepal and Belarus while keeping sending language teachers to Costa Rica and Zimbabwe.The Interactive Learning Center of Chinese Character, a high-grade and sophisticated project undertaken by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, was officially opened to the public in May 2020, which has greatly helped our college in the promotion of Chinese character and Chinese culture internationally. As a member of the World Society of Chinese Language Teaching, our college has played a positive role in serving teachers and students, and has achieved certain results. Since its establishment, about 77,000 students from more than 160 countries and regions have been studying Chinese, experiencing Chinese culture and taking the Chinese language test through out college.
II. By undertaking a large number of seminars for overseas professionals and officials, a professional project implementation team has been cultivated.
Over the years, in addition to the training of Chinese language and culture for overseas students, our college has also undertaken the foreign aid training program of the Ministry of Commerce, the foreign media reporter training program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese teachers' training program of the Chinese Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education, Chinese summer camp for foreign students, the diplomat training program of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission etc. Nearly ten types of training projects commissioned by the CPC Central Committee, the Municipal Women's Federation, the Federation of overseas Chinese and other government and social organizations. As the implementation base of foreign related projects and programs of Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of foreign affairs and Beijing Municipal Government, our college has undertaken more than 200 major projects entrusted by the state and Beijing municipal government. At present, more than 8000 foreign officials and professionals from more than 170 countries have participated in various projects and seminars in our college. Rich experience has been accumulated in the training of foreign government officials and professionals, a teaching and management team has been found with high teaching level and management level that adapts to the characteristics of foreign officials and professionals' research projects.
III. BICC has continuously organized the foreign-aid training programs for more than 12 years and accumulated rich resources and implementation experience
BICC has been the host for the foreign-aid training programs launched by the Ministry of Commerce since 2008, till now we have successfully held 113 seminars, more than 3,000 officials, experts and elites from over 130 developing countries have came here to attend the seminars. The programs and seminars theme includes Chinese language, Chinese culture, diplomacy, diplomatic protocol, tourism, tourism management, news and media, etc. In the implementation of foreign aid training program, our college insists on understanding China and Chinese culture style in training. Through practical training courses, experiential training mode, our participants will have a broader and more objective understanding of China, China's experience, and China's development mode, in order to handle China related affairs in their work better and better, furthermore promote friendly cooperation between China and other countries, and create a better diplomatic environment. The foreign aid training programs undertaken by our college has been highly praised by the Ministry of Commerce, Foreign Business Offices and Foreign Governments for its good implementation result and effect. The minister and vice minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Georgia personally wrote a letter to the leader of the Ministry of Commerce, praising the seminar that was undertaken by BICC. The Peruvian officers also specially sent a letter of thanks to the Ministry of Commerce and our college, which was written by the participants of the "2016 Seminar for Peruvian Sinologist".
Until now, our college has successfully held 6 seminars for 147 tourism officials from 36 developing countries. Through these seminars, we gained a deeper understanding of the thinking mode, research needs and learning characteristics of tourism officials, and accumulated rich project resources and management experience.
IV. Our college has rich experience in the implementation and management of online training projects.
Under the normalization of covid-19 epidemic prevention and control, BICC has held one online training program successfully, and will hold 15 online seminars in the rest of 2021. Up to now, BICC has also successfully held the online training programs launched by China Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education, China Public Diplomacy Association, Beijing Federation of Overseas Chinese and other ministries and departments. More than 100 mainstream media reporters from 30 countries, 130 college students from 14 countries, 59 Chinese teachers from Russia, and 229 foreign teenagers of Chinese origin from 2 countries have participated in our online training programs. The successful implementation experience of the online programs has laid a good foundation for future online training programs.
